Take a walk around the art fence
The art fence gives you a unique opportunity to experience and immerse yourself in Swedish history in a visual and artistic way. By walking along the 140-meter-long fence at Gripsholm Värdshus , you can explore the 71 motifs depicting various historical events from the 4th century until today.
The fence can be viewed around the clock, as the motifs face the adjacent streets. Since the fence is made of Corten steel, its appearance changes over time as the material oxidizes. The motifs also appear different depending on the season, weather, and time of day. During the darker hours of the day, the fence is illuminated.
